The Crete Sertoma Club is putting together a series of special events to celebrate the end of summer. August 14 – 17 will be the “Duck Days of Summer” here in Crete and we invite you to consider being involved. Friday August 15th

– Duck Pluck – Drawing contest to occur at the Crete Swimming Pool 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., rubber ducks will be sold throughout the summer for a chance to win 20% of the gross sales (up to $1000!) Net Proceeds with benefit Toys for Tots

Saturday August 16th

We look forward to a fun weekend already but see many more opportunities to share the “Duck Days of Summer” with others. It would be fantastic fun to add more events to those already planned. For example:
‚ A water fight Saturday afternoon
‚ BBQ on Saturday at the City Park
‚ A softball tourney
‚ A street dance or festival either night
‚ Sidewalk sales
‚ Clowns and children’s games at the pool Friday or at City Park Sat
‚ A community church service on Sunday
‚ A parade with a duck theme
‚ A decorate the duck contest
‚ The list is endless
This is intended to be a celebration of our community. How do you want to be involved? If your business or entity would like to have an activity or event that weekend (planned, coordinated and manned by you) and would like it to be advertised with the planned Sertoma events please contact Shaylene Smith, (402) 826-5136 prior to June 23rd. Events scheduled after that would still be welcome but large advertising posters will be completed by the end of this month.
